Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina Jodie has been the director of Piano Works Studios for twenty-two years and has been teaching piano for over 30 years. She received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Pedagogy from East Carolina University in 1978 where she was trained in private and group piano instruction. This is Jodie’s 16th year teaching piano at Randolph-Macon College. She accompanies the R-MC Concert Choir, is interim pianist and organist for Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, and has accompanied dancers for the Richmond Ballet, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Shuffles Dance Center where she also taught dance for twelve years. She has a passion for both music and dance and has enjoyed having the opportunity to teach many students of all ages and levels.
Lydia Delk, Piano
Lydia is teaching at Piano Works Studios for her third year. She graduated from Randolph-Macon College in 2016 with a degree in Business and Economics and a minor in Music. She is currently an executive assistant with the Fauver Group of Keller Williams Real Estate Company. Lydia studied piano for 10 years with Melissa Hawks and 3 years with Jodie Brill while at RM-C. She especially enjoys teaching students of all ages with diverse ability levels. Her dynamic personality allows her to find unique ways to communicate with each student so that they are motivated to continue excelling at piano. Lydia is excited to be partnering with Piano Works Studios.
John Anderson, Guitar/Piano
John has been a devout musician for over 15 years and has been teaching guitar and piano for more than 4 years to students ages 4 and up. John is also a recent graduate from Berklee College of Music and was placed on the Dean's List in the Fall of 2008 for outstanding academic achievement. During his time in school, he studied Guitar Performance, Composition, Ear Training, and Music Theory. John has helped students get accepted into music schools such as Berklee and Belmont and other various music programs for schools such as Northeastern University and James Madison University. Within over eleven years of playing in different music groups, John has had experience playing different styles of music such as Rock, Pop, Metal, Fusion Jazz, and Neo-Classical and has also been writing original music for over twelve years.
